{One Easter Card Completed}

I have started my Easter cards, and it begins with this one that I created for my MIL & FIL. It's an acetate card using two Papertrey sets...Everyday Blessings and Out on a Limb. I first stamped my cross, then taking my grey watercolor pencil I outlined the cross with color. I used a small paint brush to blend the color giving it a very subtle grey outline to the image. (for a closer view, just click on the picture). I mounted the image onto a piece of silver metallic paper which were attached to the front of the acetate.

The darker grey card stock that is behind the silver mount was attached to the back side of the front of the acetate sheet to cover my adhesive marks, which I didn't want to be seen when you opened the card.

For the interior of the card I used the darker grey for the branch. For the silver dogwood flowers I first stamped in Versamark, and then into my grey. I then embossed the blossoms with silver embossing powder.

Ever noticed how difficult it is to photograph something clear? LOL. I hope that you can at least get an idea of how this card looks. I'm having some lighting problems at the moment, mainly because I broke one of my "special" lamps that go with my lighting box, so I'm having to improvise, and I'm not liking what I'm getting, so more tweaking needs to be done.

Ok, so I have ONE Easter card done...several more to go...sigh! But the journey of a thousand miles beings with one step...right?

We had some sad news yesterday...my husband's grandfather passed away, so I will be out-of-touch, more or less, for the two days as we spend time with family. Grandpa was 93 and lived a very full, happy, and blessed life. We will miss him but we also know that he is finally with Grandma who passed two years ago...he has missed her so. Rest in peace, John and Ida.

Lynn, this is spectacular! I've been working with acetate cards lately,just love them. Thanks for sharing the shading idea on the cross. I got three Easter cards done last night thanks to your little reminder of how quickly time is pasting. My prayers are with you and your family at this time.

Hello Lynn,
I tried the card and the irony is it turned out a Sympathy card. Hope your family is well!
