TLC183 Faux Dry Embossing

Those of you who have been a long-time subscriber to Pat Huntoon's Technique Junkies Newsletter are familiar with this technique, which was introduced back in April of 2006, but with Pat's permission I've used it as today's Technique Lover's Challenge on SCS. I just love the look of an image that has been embossed, and with this great technique you can easily get the look of raised embossing from ANY stamped image you have.

You don't need an embossing folder, a stylus, or a Cuttlebug. All you need to turn any stamp into an embossed image is white or Vanilla ink, classic ink and matching cardstock, a stamp and the most helpful, Stamp-a-ma-jig (or comparable product).

How easy is that?

Here is the sample that I made using this technique. I adore these bright colors and fun button embellishments. The clear button was made by stamping an image from the True Friend set, highlighted with a few dots of my white gel pen, and adhered to the back of the button with Glossy Accents. It's sure a great way to personalize a button to coordinate with any project.

Thanks for checking in today. I hope that you will give this technique a try. I'm sure that once you do, you'll love it just like I do. Pop on over to the TCL thread and check out all the other submissions using this technique.

Stuff I Used: Stamps: True Friend (SU!); Papers: Tangerine Tango, Temping Turquoise, Kiwi Kiss, Summer Sun; Inks: Craft White, Temping Turquoise, Kiwi Kiss; Other Stuff: Large Rectangle Nestabilities, Buttons (SU! & Buttons Galore & More), Glossy Accents (Ranger) 3/4" circle punch, White Taffeta Ribbon (dyed with Summer Sun Ink), White Blossoms, airbrushed with Copic markers, Rick Rack from stash, Stampin' Dimensionals, Brads (Making Memories), Fire Velvet Blossoms (Maya Road).

I have a question, sorry to be dense. Your instructions say to use your positioner and stamp your image on the sheet. What sheet? Sheet of what? Am I missing something here? I LOVE this look but I don't have a Stampamajig or similar product. Do these come with clear "sheets" to stamp on? I'm sorry....Thanks!
